American Idol season 8 star Adam Lambert was arrested in Finland early on Thursday morning after reportedly getting into a nasty fight with boyfriend Sauli Koskinen outside of a bar in Helsinki. The two were taken to jail and questioned before being released later in the day.
According to police, American Idol season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert and Finnish Big Brother star Sauli Koskinen were arrested around 4AM outside a well-known gay club. The two allegedly began arguing inside the Don’t Tell Mama club and were eventually ejected by security. The fight reportedly continued out on the street after Lambert and Koskinen were thrown out of the club.
One witness, former Miss Helsinki Sofia Ruusila, claims that Lambert allegedly hit her by accident during the scuffle. Another person at the scene was also reportedly hit while trying to break up the fight.
Police were called when all attempts to stop the fight between the couple allegedly failed. Adam Lambert and Sauli Koskinen were arrested and taken into custody for investigation into possible assault charges. Both men were later released and police said no further action would be taken. Detective Superintendent Petri Juvonen said in a press statement that no weapons were used in the fight, no one was seriously injured and it was “not a very serious incident.”
“Jetlag+Vodka=blackout. Us÷blackout=irrational confusion. jail+guilt+press=lesson learned. Sauli+Adam+hangover burgers= laughing bout it. :)” Adam Lambert tweeted Thursday after he was released from jail.
As for Sauli Koskinen, he posted on his blog (translated from Finnish): “Celebrities are people too and fame is not easy. Love is not always easy either, but it’s forever. Everything is really good! The evening was pretty funny and the hangover is already gone!”
Gossip monger Perez Hilton, however, thinks there is not much funny about the situation between Lambert and his boyfriend. Talking about Lambert, Hilton posted: “This guy has some serious rage problems! We know! We’ve seen them with our own two eyes!”
