Two months after undergoing throat surgery for a hemorrhaged vocal chord, superstar singer/songwriter Adele will finally be returning to the stage for the music industry’s biggest night. Yes fans, an Adele Grammy Awards 2012 performance has been confirmed!
“Ima be, Ima be singing at the Grammys,” Adele posted on her Twitter feed on Tuesday. “It’s been so long I started to forget I was a singer! I can’t wait, speak soon xx.”
Adele has been sidelined from performing since she suffered a hemorrhaged focal chord and had to cancel her North American tour. Following surgery to repair the injury, Adele was required to keep quiet to preserve her golden pipes for the future. Her appearance at the 2012 Grammy Awards on Feb. 12 will be her first public performance in five months.
“I’m immensely proud to have been asked to perform at this year’s Grammy Awards,” Adele said in a press statement. “It’s an absolute honor to be included in such a night and for it to be my first performance in months is very exciting and of course nerve-racking, but what a way to get back into it all.â€
Not only will Adele grace the Grammy Awards 2012 stage to perform, but we’re betting she’ll be walking away with at least a few awards as well. Adele is nominated for six honors this year: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album for 21, Best Pop Solo Performance for “Someone Like You” and Best Short Form Music Video for “Rolling In The Deep”.
The 2012 Grammy Awards will air at 8PM on Sunday, February 12 on CBS from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
