American Idol 2012 petite powerhouse Jessica Sanchez has been signed on to sing for the PBS National Memorial Day Concert at the U.S. Capitol. The National Memorial Day Concert will air live from the U.S. Capitol West Lawn on Sunday, May 27 at 8PM ET.
American Idol 2012 hopeful Jessica Sanchez will reportedly sing the national anthem at the PBS concert. She will also perform her rendiction of “The Prayer” by Celine Dion, which she performed on American Idol 2012 earlier this season. The concert will air live and be broadcast to U.S. military forces around the world via the American Forces Network.
Jessica Sanchez, who may very well be the American Idol 2012 winner by the time the concert rolls around, has a special connection to the U.S. military. Her father is a Navy man who has served tours in Iraq and Kuwait and her grandfather is a Navy veteran.
American Idol top 4 finalist Jessica Sanchez will join a celebrity-studded lineup of performers for the PBS National Memorial Day Concert, including former American Idol alumni Chris Daughtry, Natalie Cole, Trace Adkins and the National Symphony Orchestra.
The concert, which will be co-hosted by Joe Mantegna (Criminal Minds) and Gary Sinise (CSI: New York), will also feature Colin L. Powell, actress Ellen Burstyn, actor Dennis Franz, actress Selma Blair and tenor Russell Watson.
