At the American Music Awards last night, Taylor Swift was the lady of the evening. Not only did Taylor Swift land the coveted Artist of the Year trophy over such luminaries as Lady Gaga and Adele, she also took home the AMAs for Best Female Country Artist and Best Country Album for Speak Now.

This has been quite a year for Swift, who was also recently named Entertainer of the Year at the Country Music Awards. Backstage, Swift gushed her excitement over her wins to Access Hollywood.

“This is a huge night for me. I can’t believe that tonight went the way that it did and that my fans were so amazing. Three awards– it’s wonderful,” she said. “I was hoping for one. You hope, thinking, ‘Wouldn’t it be cool to win one? That would be great.’

“Then one happened, and I was like, ‘This is amazing. This has been such a fantastic night.’ Then it’s just like, ‘Oh, there’s another one.’ Then there’s the giant crazy category of artist of the year,” she said. “I can’t believe that happened.”

Taylor Swift also took to Twitter feed to express her delight over the evening. “So excited to have just won an AMA! …I had one of the most magical nights with my friends tonight!” Swift posted on her Twitter feed. After her moment of glory, however, it was quickly back to business. “Hopping on a redeye to play our last 2 shows at Madison Square Garden!!”
