America’s Got Talent 2012: Austin Auditions Keep it Weird!

On America’s Got Talent 2012 Monday night, the auditions move to Austin, Texas. As we go into the next round of AGT 2012 auditions with judges Howard Stern, Sharon Osbourne, and Howie Mandell, let’s remember that this city’s unofficial motto is ‘Keep Austin Weird’. So hopefully we’ll be seeing some crazy fun stuff tonight on America’s Got Talent 2012!

Join us for our America’s Got Talent 2012 live recap as we find out who will be going to Vegas and who will just be going home.

Please stop reading if you do not want to know what happened on America’s Got Talent 2012 Monday night!

In Texas, everything is supposedly bigger, and tonight on America’s Got Talent 2012, the contestants apparently are too! In fact, one of the acts performing on Monday is so big, they actually have to take it outside. From the clips we’ve seen, it looks like there will be something huge going on with a cannon!

From the America’s Got Talent 2012 previews for this week, it also appears that we may have one of those truly epic America’s Got Talent auditions to look forward to. Sneak peeks from the show hint at one of the ‘best auditions’ so far and Howard Stern tells one act they have “just blow it out of the park”.

I can’t wait to see what kind of craziness will be hitting the America’s Got Talent 2012 auditions stage tonight. So let’s move right along to our live recap and find out!

[Videos for the America’s Got Talent 2012 Austin auditions will be posted here as soon as they are available!]

Tonight’s America’s Got Talent auditions take place in Austin and we hear it is going to be an amazing night with at least one incredible act that will blow our minds.

Naturally, to start off the evening, Howie Mandell has to do something wacky and arrives for the Austin auditions on a bull.

The first up to audition for the evening is the Mariachi Band El Churo. I never thought I would be rooting for a Mariachi Band, but they are actually pretty cool, although a lot of it is the  whole cute kid factor. Howie Mandel was surprised to hear the voice that came out of little Sebastian de la Cruz. Howard Stern thinks they blew the roof off. Through to Vegas!

Then we have some massive fails with an impressionist who sucked hard and a circus act that just couldn’t cut it. I personally don’t care for the crap acts and would just rather see the best auditions, but to each their own. Some people like to watch the train wrecks.

The next cool act to hit the stage is the Bandbaz Brothers, a pair of Iranian acrobats. All three judges loved them and Howie Mandell thought they were fabulously dangerous, edgy and awesome. They are through to Vegas.

UP next is singer Timothy Michael Poe, a war veteran with one of those ‘stories’ the judges love. He does have a gorgeous voice and I would put him through for sure. Sharon Osbourne thinks he sand beautifully and he has a rich, lovely tone. Howie tells him he has a phenomenal talent. Howard thought he did a really great job and thanks him for his service to our country. Timothy will be moving on to Vegas!

Now we have more contortionists to wow the judges and they get a pass through by the judges as well. The contortionists certainly are popular this year! We also have another cute kid act with a boy who sings and plays piano. He also gets a pass through to Vegas.

‘Lulu’ hits the stage next and does a pole dancing routine. Sharon and Howard both hit their X buttons, but Howie does not. Host Nick Cannon comes out on stage and does a bit of pole dancing himself as the audience cheers. Lulu does not go through to Vegas, thank god, and Nick Cannon should stay off the pole too.

The next act, Joe Castillo, is one of my favorites so far just because it is so unique, although I don’t see it ever being a Vegas act. The act features a guy who tells tales in sand and lights. You really have to see it to believe how cool it is. The judges agree that they’ve never seen anything like it before and he gets a pass through to Vegas.

Our last audition of the evening is Human Cannon Ball David Smith. I’m amazed that there are really people who still do this. This act is so big, of course, they have to take the whole thing outside. It’s raining, the paramedics are on standby and the judges are worried. David Smith shoots out of the cannon and  hurls through the air, landing without a scratch.

Howard is thrilled and wants to see it all over again. Sharon says she was totally surprised. Howie is all kinds of yes and wants to see it again too. He is through to Vegas with no problem, even if you really can’t build a whole act just around shooting yourself out of a cannon.
