No official casting news has been announced yet for the Batman 3 film. However, Christian Bale previously stated he has signed on for a third film. Other main characters are also expected to return for the new installment of the series. Emily Blunt is also rumored to be interested, possibly for the role of Catwoman.

Little is known about the plot of the upcoming Batman sequel, although Nolan has said the villain in the film will not be Mr. Freeze. Comments from Nolan about the upcoming movie have implied that this may be the last Batman film he takes on.

“I’m very excited about the end of the film, the conclusion, and what we’ve done with the characters.” Nolan told the Los Angeles Times last month. “The key thing that makes the third film a great possibility for us is that we want to finish our story,” Nolan said. “And in viewing it as the finishing of a story rather than infinitely blowing up the balloon and expanding the story.”
