“Real Housewives of New York City” and “Bethenny Ever After” star Bethenny Frankel revealed during an interview with the “Today” show that she recently suffered a miscarriage. Frankel said the experience was “very emotional” for her and husband Jason Hoppy.
In an interview with the “Today” show, Bethenny Frankel revealed the miscarriage after she was asked about any plans to have more children. Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy currently have one child together, 21-month-old daughter Bryn. Frankel told “Today” co-host Savannah Guthrie she had been pregnant recently, but lost the baby early on in the pregnancy.
“We were pregnant with a second baby, and at eight weeks, I miscarried,” Frankel said. “That was a very emotional experience.” Fighting back tears, Frankel said she felt “lucky” to have been blessed with one child already, because so many women could not even conceive at all.
“I have the most beautiful daughter in the world. I’m grateful for her,” Frankel said. “Until you become a woman, you don’t know the things that come with being a woman.” Acknowledging that she is already past optimum child-bearing age, Bethenny Frankel said she is aware the “window’s closing, and it’s something that I’m dealing with.”
“I have thought about other women more than myself,” she admitted. “I can’t believe what people go through if they can’t even have the one. You go through a roller coaster of emotions about it.”
