A Beyoncé super bowl halftime show? Let me set my DVR now! No insult intended to Madonna and her, um, spectacle of a Super Bowl halftime show last year, but I’m hoping Beyoncé will at least have better taste than signing on Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. as guest performers.
Grammy-Award winner Beyoncé is likely to bring some more enjoyable guest talent to the stage during the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show on Feb. 3. I’m sure she could convince husband Jay-Z to hop on stage for a duet. She’s also on speed dial with hot performers like Shakira and former Destiny’s Child mates Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland.
Beyoncé formerly performed the national anthem at Super Bowl XXXVII in 2004 when the even came to her hometown of Houston. If that performance was any indication of how hot she’ll be on the football field, I can’t wait to see her in action for a full Super Bowl halftime show.
The Beyoncé Super Bowl halftime show news was leaked on Tuesday, but the official announcement is not due out until Wednesday. A rep for Beyoncé’s label has not yet responded to requests for comment on the news.
