This could be a very happy day for animated movie fans of Finding Nemo and Toy Story! Thanks to director Andrew Stanton, it has been pretty much confirmed that Finding Nemo 2 will finally be made. Plus rumor has it Toy Story 4 may be in the works as well.
According to Deadline.com, director Andrew Stanton has confirmed he will be helming Finding Nemo 2, the sequal to the 2003 mega-hit animated film. Taking up the reins of an animated film again such as Finding Nemo 2 is probably a good bet for Stanton, who failed rather miserably with the live action film John Carter.
Twilight franchise star Robert Pattinson has shot down rumors he is up for a tasty part in The Hunger Games movie sequel, Catching Fire. According to the hunky Twilight series star, the rumors were so hot, he actually called his agent to make sure he really wasn’t in line for the Catching Fire part.
In an interview with USA Today, Robert Pattinson denied he was in negotiations to play the part of tribute Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games movie sequel, Catching Fire. However, even he was left wondering if he might have missed a memo somewhere because the rumor had spread so far and fast.
Beautiful brunette Anne Hathaway debuted a new haircut early on Sunday morning and wow is it a dramatic change! The new Anne Hathaway haircut is super short with a bit of a spiky flair on top. The very short style, in combination with the actress’s recent weight loss, gives Hathaway a decidedly boyish, androgynous look. The new Anne Hathaway short hair cut and skinnier shape are both reportedly all about the star’s new role in the upcoming big screen adaption of Les Miserables.
In Les Miserables, Anne Hathaway plays the character of Fantine, a terminally ill prostitute who cuts off and sells her hair to help feed her baby daughter, Cosette. In addition to her new haircut, Anne Hathaway has also dropped pounds to slim down for the role of the starving, sick Fantine.
The Hunger Games broke $300 million at the box office this weekend, laughing all the way to the bank at American Reunion in a distant second place. As for James Cameron‘s Titanic 3-D, The Hunger Games slayed it at the box office, surpassing the Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet film by over $16 million.
With The Hunger Games still reaping huge ticket sales at the box office, the film is currently on target to rake in over $360 million domestically and is currently the highest grossing film of the year. With the win at the weekend box office, The Hunger Games has now topped ticket sales in the U.S. for the third weekend in the row.
Based on the hit Broadway musical, the new Rock of Ages movie hitting theaters on June 15 looks like a lot of fun… if you can get past the idea of Mission Impossible star Tom Cruise as an aging, long-haired, pimped-up rock star.
Personally, I just don’t see Tom Cruise as any kind of rock star, much less the ‘god of rock’ he’s supposed to be in the Rock of Ages movie. Something about Tom Cruise is just so far from a grungy, hard rocking, music icon that my mind has real trouble going there. Of course, the movie is a comedy for the most part, so I guess it’s okay to laugh at Tom Cruise in the part — especially those shirtless, tattooed scenes with the fake weave going on.
As for Tom Cruise singing, well, the Rock of Ages movie trailer video gives us only the tiniest taste of his vocal prowess… or lack thereof. Most of the singing in the trailer is done by the rest of the cast, leaving his bit right up until the very end. The second of actual Tom Cruise singing in the movie trailer is so overproduced it is hard to tell it is a human voice and not a robot. Well, or maybe Tom Cruise just sounds like a robot even when singing…
Still, even with my obvious dislike of Tom Cruise as the character of Stacee Jaxx instead of some kick-ass real rocker (or Broadway star) with a rough and ready voice, the Rock of Ages movie still looks rather entertaining. Then again, I’m just a sucker for musical theater in whatever form it comes in.
The Rock of Ages movie, directed by Hairspray‘s Adam Shankman, also stars Russell Brand, Alec Baldwin, Julianne Hough, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Diego Boneta. The film is due in theaters on June 15.
Will Ferrell will be returning as the lead iconic character in Anchorman 2: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. The comedian announced the Anchorman sequel on Conan last night in a surprise appearance as the title character from the upcoming film.
Will Ferrell strolled onto the set of Conan last night as the character of Ron Burgundy, complete with burgundy leisure suit and loud, striped tie. After a humorous, over-the-top flute solo, Ferrell told host Conan O’Brien he looked “like someone put a bright red fright wig on a skeleton and chucked it out of a helicopter.”
Just in the time to steal a tiny bit of attention from the smash opening weekend of The Hunger Games movie, Summitt Entertainment has released a new The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 trailer. The final installment in the Twilight film series, Breaking Dawn: Part Two is expected to rake in insane numbers at the box office when it hits theaters on November 16.
In the new, 48-second Breaking Dawn: Part 2 movie trailer, Twilight fans can catch a few glimpses of Bella Swan (Kristin Stewart) in her new vampire form. Typical of Twilight trailers, this one never shows very much of the new vampire Bella at once — teasing viewers with little snatches of her vamped-up self and one long look at those scary, bright red, hungry vampire eyes.
