The Hunger Games Movie Breaks Midnight Box Office Record

The Hunger Games movie is already number one at the weekend box office before the ‘weekend’ even officially begins. In fact, The Hunger Games movie, starring Jennifer Lawrence as heroine Katniss Everdeen, has already broken at least one box office record. Fans flooding midnight screenings of the film tallied up over $19.7 million in ticket sales. That sets the record for the largest non-sequel midnight opening ever.

Although The Hunger Games only placed seventh in the record of biggest midnight openings in history, all the rest of the films on the list were sequels. Perhaps The Hunger Games movie sequel will break that record next time around?

The original Dark Shadows television show may not have meant to be campy and deliciously amusing to watch — but it just was. I am personally delighted at how Tim Burton has played homage to the cult classic camp status of the original Dark Shadows nighttime soap opera series.

The latest “The Hunger Games” video clip features the first meeting between our heroine, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), and her games stylist Cinna (Lenny Kravitz).

Now, fans of “The Hunger Games” novels were not all that pleased about the casting of actor and musician Lenny Kravitz as Cinna. Many fans complained that they just could not picture Lenny Kravitz in the role, and frankly, I was one of them. After seeing this clip of Katniss and Cinna in their first interaction on screen, I’m still a bit on the fence. I think, however, that the chemistry seems good and it could turn out to be a good casting choice. After all, I was initially not all that happy about Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss, but have since totally fallen in love with her in the role.
