Sometimes I am beyond curious to know what TV executives are thinking, but The Walking Dead spinoff hasn’t even premiered yet and AMC has already renewed it for a second season! Yup, the spinoff for The Walking Dead is set to premiere this summer, but we will for sure have a Season 2, regardless if it is a flop or not! Like it’s predecessor, it looks like The Walking Dead spinoff series will start with just six episodes for Season 1 and then increase the number of episodes for Season 2. Season 1 is set to premiere this summer and Season 2 will come in late 2016, so it will be there to fill the gaps when The Walking Dead is not on the air!

The Walking Dead season 3 premieres tonight on AMC at 9PM ET and the preview videos we’ve seen for the new episodes gives us wild hope this season is going to rock. The Walking Dead premiere for season 3 is a throwback to the early days of the show when fast-paced action, nasty gore and over-the-top violence was the name of the game. Sometimes you just have to go back to the beginning to recapture the glory of what made a show great to begin with.

Last season got a bit dreary and overly cerebral around mid-season, but started to pick up again toward the end. The Walking Dead season 3 premiere video preview seems to show us more of the action-packed awesomeness we know and love, and less of the overly conceptual dialogue and moralistic ‘lessons’ that bogged things down last season.
