Canadian siren Celine Dion is pregnant with her second child, her rep confirmed on Tuesday. 41-year-old Celine Dion and husband Rene Angelil are “both very happy” about the upcoming addition to their family, Dion’s rep said in a press statement.
Celine Dion announced in March that she would be taking an 18-month hiatus to focus on her family. Dion and 67-year-old Rene Angelil have been married for almost 15 years and this will be their second child together. The couple’s son, Rene-Charles, was born with help from in vitro fertilization in 2001. Angelil has three other children from a previous marriage.
Celine Dion reportedly found out she was pregnant on Monday after undergoing fertility treatments, according to spokeswoman Murielle Blondeau. “Celine and Rene are full of joy. It’s been a big dream for Celine to have a second child,” Bondeau stated.
The French newspaper Journal de Montréal was the first to report the news. The baby is due in May, 2010.
