WARNING: DANCING WITH THE STARS: ALL STARS SPOILERS AHEAD!

This post contains Dancing With the Stars 2012 All Stars spoilers for the week 9 semifinals performances. Please stop reading here if you do not want to know what happens!

Last week on Dancing With the Stars 2012 All Stars, fans watched one of the strongest dancers on the show go home on the elimination results show. While everyone was pretty much expecting Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy would bite the dust last week, the elimination of Gilles Marini and Peta Murgatroyd came as an unexpected shock to many fans. If you don’t vote, you can’t expect your favorites to make it through to the next round people!

On tonight’s Dancing With the Stars All Stars 2012 semifinals performance show, the remaining five couples will dance to a Michael Jackson song. The show will also include three special dances set to Michael Jackson songs.

The couples will also perform a second ‘mash-up’ dance routine on DWTS All Stars 2012 tonight. The themes for the mash-up dances were announced on last week’s Dancing With the Stars elimination results show.

  • Melissa & Tony – Caveman Hustle
  • Shawn & Derek – Night Rider Banghra
  • Apolo & Karina – Big Top Jazz
  • Emmit & Cheryl – Espionage Lindy Hop
  • Kelly & Val – Surfer Flamingo

Only three spots are open for the Dancing With the Stars All Stars finals, so two of the remaining couples will be sent packing on the DWTS elimination results show Tuesday night.

Ready to find out who rocked it and who failed to impress the DWTS 2012 judges this week? Our live Dancing With the Stars All Stars semifinals recap starts right here at 8PM ET!

RECAP: To entertain us before the celebrity contestants hit the stage, we have a performance by the professional dancers to some Micheal Jackson music. I always enjoy watching the pros in action, but I’m ready to move along to the actual contestants.

Thankfully, the ‘entertainment’ intro doesn’t last long and we are on to the live performances! The first routine tonight will be the strange ‘theme’ mash-up routines picked out last week.

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani – Caveman Hustle

Judges: Len says he has never seen Fred and Wilma dance so well and he really enjoyed it. He says he thought they really caught the flavor of a caveman. Tony had muscle whiel Melissa had hustle. Bruno says it was the most effective use of animal skins since Raquel Welch. He says there was a lot of whiplash and when you turn in the hustle, you have to be spot on. There were a couple of turns where they lost their footing and were shaking. Carrie Ann says it was ‘Yabba dabba fine’ and she loved it. She thought it was a perfect way to bring the two dances together. She liked the caveman parts better than the hustle parts though.

Scores:
Len – 8, Bruno – 9.5, Carrie Ann – 9 = 27.5 of 30

Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough – Knight Rider Bahngra

Judges: Len says it was fantastic and dynamite! Shut up, close the door and call him Mary! Bruno says they have done it Bhangra style. He loved it and it was a mega hit. Carrie Ann asks what you can say to that, it was great. Finally Shawn is out of breath!

Scores:
Len – 10, Bruno – 10, Carrie Ann – 10 = 30 of 30

Apolo Ohno and Karina Smirnoff – Big Top Jazz

Judges: Len says it was well done but there were a few awkward moments. He is a fighter though! Bruno says it was like a blend of Cirque du Soleil and A Clockwork Orange. Edgy and surreal. It would have been a ten except for some lost steps in the start. Carrie Ann says she loved the whole concept but it was very disjointed, out of sync, sloppy and didn’t come together so well.

Scores: Len – 8.5, Bruno – 9.5, Carrie Ann – 8.5 = 27 of 30

Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke – Espionage Lindy Hop

Judges: Len says he liked the concept, the energy and the whole package. Well done! Bruno says it was a Looney Tunes version of James Bond a totally fun performance. Carrie Ann says it was Emmitt’s most animated performance ever.

Scores: Len – 9, Bruno – 9, Carrie Ann – 9 = 27 of 30

Kelly Monaco and Val Chmerkovskiy – Surfer Flamenco

Judges: Len says if this dance was a poker game, she went all in. The energy was fantastic. Bruno says he thinks Kelly was upstaged by the Speedos. The Flamenco is a dance of very exact placements and it was lacking that. Carrie Ann says it was all Paso and didn’t really have the Flamenco in there at all. The surfer side was well done though.

Scores: Len – 9, Bruno – 8.5, Carrie Ann – 8 = 25.5 of 30

Now we’re moving on to the Michael Jackson tribute half of the performances.

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani – “Dirty Diana” Argentine Tango

Judges: Len says he would be extremely dissapointed if for some reason Melissa was not back next week. Bruno says she was possessed on the dance floor tonight and the lift sequence was extraordinary tonight. She exceeded all expectations and deserves to be in the finals. Carrie Ann says she would like Dirty Diana to meet Magnificent Melissa. The lifts were out of this freaking world! That was more than anything she could have imagined for her to do.

Scores: Len – 10, Bruno – 10, Carrie Ann – 10 = 30 of 30

Total Score: 57.5 of 60

Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough – “Bad” Argentine Tango

Judges: Len says part one is learning the routine and part tow is selling it and she nailed both parts. Bruno says it was very interesting, breathtaking and pure Argentine Tango, brilliant! Stylistically perfect. Carrie Ann says her movements were excellent and every line was perfect but the dance was lacking drama and a little passion and intimacy. It was still beautiful though.

Scores:
Len – 10, Bruno – 10, Carrie Ann – 9 = 29 of 60

Total Score: 59 of 60

Apolo Ohno and Karina Smirnoff – “Man in the Mirror” Rumba

Judges: Len says it was like the ocean, wave after wave of excitement and effortless motion. Fabulous! Bruno says it was perfect pitch and he nailed it. Get down on it Apolo! Carrie Ann says this is what she is talking about. You don’t have to over dance to win in this competition. He reached into her heart and melted it.

Scores: Len – 10, Bruno – 10, Carrie Ann – 10 = 30 of 30

Total Score: 57 of 60

Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke – “Leave Me Alone” Tango

Judges: Len says he thought they had the biggest challenge to bring ease and elegance and they coped very well. Bruno says he loved the criminal intent but the footwork could have been more exact. Carrie Ann says Emmitt brought his A game, but she has to judge him on technique.

Scores: Len – 9, Bruno – 9, Carrie Ann – 9 = 27 of 30

Total Score: 54 of 60

Kelly Monaco and Valentin Chmerkovsky – “I Can’t Stop Loving You” Rumba

Judges: Len says it was wonderful. He loves it when she speeds in and then slows it down. The dance had control and the lines were fantastic. Well done! Bruno says it was smoldering and she performed like she never had before. Driven by desire and consumed by lust! She was so into it. It was great to see. Carrie Ann says it was beautiful and she showed such honest vulnerability. Breathtaking. She thought the movements were a little clipped in parts, but that’s her style.

Scores: Len – 9.5, Bruno – 9.5, Carrie Ann – 9.5 = 28.5 of 30

Total Score: 54 of 60
