On Monday night, the Dancing With the Stars 2012 cast did their best to glide with elegance across the dance floor, performing twice to beautiful pieces of famous classical music. Monday night was a tough competition between the Dancing With the Stars 2012 cast members and while some of the DWTS 2012 couples shined, it was far from the best night of the season for several of the remaining 7 contestants. Join us for our Dancing With the Stars 2012 live recap of week 7 to find out who came out on top and who is likely to be facing elimination this week!

(NOTE: If you can’t see these videos because of where you live, we will have accessible videos for all as soon as they are available.)
Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas — Rumba
Judges: The judges are thrilled with the routine. Len Goodman says he is happy they didn’t sex it up too much, but Bruno Tonioli thought they should have made it raunchier and Carrie Ann Inaba also wanted more heat.
Scores: Carrie Ann: 9 Len: 9 Bruno: 9 = 27/30
Melissa Gilbert and Maksim Chmerkovskiy — Argentine Tango
Judges: Len says a dance should be a marriage between movement and music and Melissa portrayed that, but it lacked good dance quality. Bruno says it is obvious Melissa tried really hard but it looked like she was riding the Cyclone at Coney Island, it was a mess. Carrie Ann thinks it was like a Cirque Du Soleil performance that went wrong.
Scores: Carrie Ann: 7 Len: 7 Bruno: 7 = 21/30
William Levy and Cheryl Burke — Viennese Waltz
Judges: Len Goodman says that while he was not quite transported to Vienna, he did make it to Austria at least. Bruno thinks William captured the ethereal quality of the dance and he really put his heart and soul into it; it was beautiful. Carrie Ann says this is just what she was looking for, true content and real dancing; there was a story in the music and William brought the romance to life.
Scores: Carrie Ann: 9 Len: 9 Bruno: 9 = 27/30
Roshon Fegan and Chelsie Hightower — Argentine Tango
Comments: Instead of dancing to classical, they dance to a muzak version of “Bad Romance” by Lady Gaga. Interesting. Although I didn’t like the ‘cheat’ of dancing to Lady Gaga instead of a true classical piece, I thought it was one of their better dances of the season. Very clean and more professional than a lot of the past rounds.
Judges: Len Goodman says he really liked the transitions into the lifts and the routine was confident. Bruno loved the lifts and thought the dance was seamless, but Roshon needs more strength in his legs to ground himself. Carrie Ann tells Roshon ‘welcome back to the competition’ and thought he was very steady on his feet and the other judges were too critical.
Scores: Carrie Ann: 9 Len: 8 Bruno: 8 = 25/30
Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd — Viennese Waltz
Comments: Another really awesome routine from Donald and Peta. These two are totally climbing up to threaten Katherine and William in the top.
Judges: Len says it was a slow start but it was terrific once it got going; Donald’s footwork was really on. Buron says Donald has huge drive and passion and he loved the dance. Carrie Ann says she loves Donald’s intensity and he is regal when he dances.
Scores: Carrie Ann: 9 Len: 9 Bruno: 9 = 27/30
Maria Menounos and Derek Hough — Paso Doble
Comments: Wow! Maria makes one hell of a hot vampire! This routine is smoking hot and fiery, one of the best of the night and one of their best routines of the season. I may be biased toward the dark side, but this is one yummy dance!
Judges: Len Goodman says the dance was as sharp as a razor and full of tension. He loved it and it was fantastic. Bruno says Maria was the queen of the night and he’d be happy for her to turn him right now; it was spellbinding. Carrie Ann says Maria was amazing and Katherine should watch her back; it was on fire and definately did not suck!
Scores: Carrie Ann: 10 Len: 10 Bruno: 10 = 30/30
Jaleel White and Kym Johnson — Viennese Waltz
Comments: Not the best performance they’ve had. It lacked the fireworks and technical difficulty of some of the other dancers for this evening. I think Jaleel just doesn’t have the chops to catch up with the leaders at this point unless the voters get crazy.
Judges: Len Goodman says he likes enough not to be cruel, but doesn’t like it enough to be kind and it was lacking in footwork. Bruno says it was done well and was a nice story, but that’s about it. Carrie Ann says it was refreshing with excellent storytelling but Jaleel needs to be more aware of his hands.
Scores: Carrie Ann: 8 Len: 8 Bruno: 8 = 24/30
Up next we have the team dances with Team Tango up first.
Team Tango – Katherine Jenkins, Maria Menounos, Roshon Fegan and Jaleel White.
Judges: Len Goodman says Maria and Roshon really stood out in the team dance, which was a mix of the good, the bad and the ugly. Bruno says the choreography was fabulous and Roshon really nailed it. Carrie Ann thought it was very well done and all the dancers were tight and in sync but Roshon really had it.
Scores: 10 + 8 + 9 = 27/30
Team Paso – Melissa Gilbert, William Levy and Donald Driver
Judges: Len says it was a hot performance but the execution was cold. Bruno says the contestants had more power than the Avengers and they are superheroes. Carrie Ann thinks it had passion and intensity and will go down as a fan favorite in the history of the show.
