The Dancing With the Stars 2012 cast will have their first night of double performances on Monday. The eight remaining DWTS 2012 cast celebrities will each dance to a Motown theme. There will also be a Motown Marathon dance where contestants will have the chance to earn additional points from the judges based on how long they can outlast the other remaining couples.
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver, who has been having a stellar past few weeks on Dancing With the Stars 2012, says he was very excited to prepare for Motown week “because we have one of the biggest stars in Motown history on the cast.” Driver wrote in his Journal Sentinel blog that it has “been such a pleasure getting to know Gladys Knight and I think everyone wants to come out and give their best performances of the season on Monday’s show to pay tribute to her amazing career.”
On Dancing With the Stars 2012 Monday night, the eight remaining celebrity contestants will each have to perform a new dance style. Here’s the rundown on who will be dancing what this week:
- Melissa and Maks: Viennese Waltz
- Gladys and Tristan: Rumba
- Jaleel and Kym: Quickstep
- Donald and Peta: Foxtrot
- Roshon and Chelsie: Rumba
- Maria and Derek: Foxtrot
- William and Cheryl: Rumba
- Katherine and Mark: Samba
All of the Dancing With the Stars 2012 cast members will also have participate in a Motown Marathon showdown. The contestants will all hit the dance floor together and points will be awarded based on when they are tapped out to leave the dance floor by the judges.
Performers on Monday night for DWTS 2012 Motown week reportedly will include Boyz II Men, Smokey Robinson, The Temptations and Martha Reeves. The vocal group Human Nature will also be performing Motown hits throughout the evening and pro dancers Anna Trebunskaya and Val Chmerkovskiy will perform in a special dance to Smokey Robinson’s “Tears of a Clown.”
