The Demi Moore 911 call has been released to the public, but portions of the recording have been censored to comply with federal medical privacy laws at the recommendation of the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office. Actress Demi Moore was rushed to the hospital on Monday after falling ill during a party at her home in Beverly Hills.
In the Demi Moore 911 call, a woman tells the emergency operator that the actress “smoked something. It’s not marijuana, but it’s similar to incense and she seems to be having convulsions of some sort.” The woman also tells the 911 call operator that Moore is “semi-conscious, barely, she’s convulsing” and has “been having some issues lately with some other stuff, but I don’t know what she’s been taking or not.”
A second woman on the Demi Moore 911 call told the dispatcher that the actress was “shaking, convulsing, burning up. I’m taking cold water and putting it on her back because she’s burning up.” The dispatcher asks the woman if Moore is responsive and she is heard asking, “Demi, can you hear me?” She tells the operator, “Yes, she’s squeezing my hand. She can’t speak. She’s convulsing so we’re holding her down.” The second woman on the call eventually hands off the phone to a man, who continues to coordinate with the dispatcher to guide the emergency responders to the house.
Paramedics reportedly arrived on scene about 10 minutes after the call was placed from Moore’s home on Monday night. TMZ.com has reported that someone at the party told paramedics when they arrived that Moore had been inhaling whippets or “whip-its” containing nitrous oxide before her collapse. The actress was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
Demi Moore has been plagued with rumors of excessive behavior, drinking and anorexia since her very public split with much younger husband Ashton Kutcher late last year.
