Famed Broadway composer Andrew Lloyd Webber had been diagnosed with cancer, according to a press statement released by his rep on Sunday. Renowned for such hit productions as Phantom of the Opera and Cats, Andrew Lloyd Webber is reportedly in the early stages of prostate cancer.
A representative for Webber released a press statement on Sunday saying the Broadway legend is “now undergoing treatment and expects to be fully back at work before the end of the year.”
Andrew Lloyd Webber is the mastermind behind such hit Broadway musicals as Evita, Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar and The Phantom of the Opera. Webber is currently working on a sequel to Phantom of the Opera titled Love Never Dies, scheduled to open in London in March, 2010.
