Former Saturday Night Live writer Joe Bodolai was found dead the day after Christmas in a hotel room in Hollywood. According to police, 63-year-old Bodolai’s death appears to have been a suicide.

A co-writer of “Wayne’s World” sketches with Mike Myers, Joe Bodolai was found dead with a bottle of antifreeze and a bottle of Gatorade near his body. The Los Angeles County Coroners office said in a press statement that the death has been reported as a suicide and there was no indication of foul play.

No suicide note was found in the hotel room where Bodolai was found, but what appears to be a final note was posted on the writer’s blog on December 23. The post was titled “If This Were Your Last Day Alive, What Would You Do?” The post featured a list of “Things I Regret,” including “my inability to conquer my alcoholism” and “the pain I have caused and am now causing my sons and the love of my life, my ex-wife Bianca.”

Joe Bodolai also listed in his suicide note “Things I Am Proud Of,” including his work as a writer for Saturday Night Live in the 1980s, his work on Kids in the Hall and his sons. The former SNL writer ended his note: “May you all have the happy lives you deserve. Than kyou all for being in my life.”

Sadly, just the day before posting this final note, Bodolai hinted at his dark thoughts in a note left on his Facebook wall. “I’m alone this year and am volunteering serving Christmas dinner to the homeless,” Bodolai said. “Perhaps I will be one, but I love all of you and if I make it to next year let’s make it a morally, spiritually, better and funnier year.”
