Mocking the rumors about her own plastic surgery addiction, The Hills star Heidi Montag is the star of a new video spoof video about “the horrors of having to pay for plastic surgery” in the current economy.

The Funny or Die video, while humorous on the surface, is actually part of an activist campaign urging Congress to create a consumer agency to protect the public from predatory banks and credit card agencies. A previous video for the campaign featured a collection of Saturday Night Live presidential impersonators and quickly became an Internet hit.

The Heidi Montag plastic surgery video, like the SNL presidential reunion video, was directed by Ron Howard for the Americans for Financial Reform organization.

In the video, which also features a cameo by husband Spencer Pratt, Heidi Montag moans about the horror of “being in debt for elective surgery”. Even worse, however, is thinking of the “thousands of Americans whose only method of paying for food is their credit cards, it’s enough to make me cry without moving my new face,” Montag says.

Although the Heidi Montag plastic surgery video isn’t nearly as funny or entertaining as the SNL presidential reunion video, we have to give The Hills star props for being willing to mock herself in public and lend her botoxed face to a cause.
