Gears of War fans have a new, hot sequel to look forward to coming out in April of 2001. Franchise creator Cliff Bleszinski unveiled the official Gears of War 3 trailer on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Bleszinski said the game would feature players battling against the monstrous ‘Lambent’ species from Gears of War 2.
The new Gears of War 3 trailer called “Ashes to Ashes” shows soldiers busting through a destroyed city with frozen human ash figures all around and fighting hordes of nasty creatures. Visually, as usual, it’s stunning. “Graphics are the thing that pulls people in,” Bleszinski said. “But what ultimately matters is game play.”
Female gamers can also rejoice at the news that Gears of War 3 will be the first of the series to include female soldiers. To which we say – it’s about damn time! Plus, the girl soldier in the trailer is hot!
The first two Gears of War video games have sold over 12 million collective copies since the first game was released in 2006. Bleszinski called Gears of War 3 the “worst kept secret” in the video game industry. Yeah, we can agree with that. Everyone knew it was coming and pretty much when, but we’re excited that the trailer looks like it’s going to be just as fabulous as the first two.
