Rapper Jay-Z has revealed a sad Beyoncé miscarriage before the 30-year-old superstar singer became pregant with their new baby daughter Blue Ivy. Jay-Z slipped the surprise news into his latest song “Glory” — which he released today in honor of Blue Ivy’s birth.

Beyonce gave birth on Saturday to the couple’s first child together, a baby girl named Blue Ivy, on Saturday in New York. Pal Gwyneth Paltrow confirmed the birth and the baby’s name on Twitter.

In the song “Glory,” Jay-Z raps a poignant lyric stating: “Last time the miscarriage was so tragic/We was afraid you’d disappear/But nah baby you magic.” The song, which is produced by Pharrell, includes sampling of baby Blue Ivy crying shortly after she was born.

Jay-Z also raps in the song about the difficult journey of Beyonce becoming pregnant: “false alarms and false stars” and “all the pain of the last time, prayed so hard it was the last time.”

Still, all is happy now in Beyonce and Jay-Z’s world with the birth of baby daughter Blue Ivy. The rapper expresses his join in “Glory” by rapping: “The most amazing feeling I feel/Words can’t describe such a feeling, for real/Baby I’ll paint the sky blue/My greatest creation was you.
