Jersey Shore Cancelled But Spin-Offs Will Continue

MTV has announced the terrible news for lovers of Guidos everywhere: Jersey Shore has been cancelled. Amazingly, Jersey Shore has actually only been airing for three years. Strange, it seems like it has been diminishing the IQ’s of viewers for far longer.

A rep for the network reportedly said MTV wasn’t even sure Jersey Shore season 6 would even happen after it was announced star Snooki Polizzi was pregnant. Snookie gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Lorenzo on Sunday.

Even though with Jersey Shore cancelled, many of the cast members will still be able to extend their 15 minutes of fame for a while longer. Snooki and Jennifer ‘JWoww’ Farley will appear on season two of Snooki & JWOWW. The Pauly D Project, starring Paul ‘Pauly D’ DelVecchio may also be rebooted for a second season, although no announcement has been made yet.

The final season of Jersey Shore, set in Seaside Heights, N.J., will premiere on October 4 at 10 PM ET. A wrap-up Jersey Shore special titled “Gym, Tan, Look Back” will air on MTV on Sept. 6 at 6PM ET.
