Former Jon & Kate Plus 8 star Kate Gosselin says her children are crying over the loss of their ‘buddies’ from the TLC film crew. In an interview with Barbara Walters for her 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009 special, Kate Gosselin said her children miss the film crew that used to be so much a part of their daily lives.

“They cried in the van on the way home from school the other day,” Kate Gosselin tells Barbara Walters in the interview. “I finally admitted to them, they kept asking, ‘Where’s the camera crew? Where’s the camera crew? We miss them.’ And I said, ‘Our show is over.’ …Eight sobbing kids driving home from school.”

TLC had initially planned to remake Jon & Kate Plus 8 without Jon Gosselin following the couple’s very public separation. The reality TV dad, however, forbade TLC from continuing to film his children, effectively ending their time as mini-TV stars.

While Jon Gosselin continues to flounder around trying to find a new way to capitalize on his waning 15 minutes of fame, Kate Gosselin is set to start co-hosting a new talk show next spring, according to ABCNews.com.

The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009 airs Wednesday night at 10 PM. Other famous names scheduled to be featured include Lady Gaga, Sarah Palin, Brett Favre and Glenn Beck.
