Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson landed a suspension for week 10 of the NFL season over a series of incidents violating the league’s personal conduct policy, including posting a nasty anti-gay slur on his Twitter account.
Like too many celebs before him, Larry Johnson decided to take to his Twitter account to bitch after the Kansas City Chiefs lost yet another game. In a bash against head coach Todd Haley, Johnson posted a message labeling a Twitter follower who replied to his comments as a “Christopher Street boy. Is what us east coast cats call u.” Christopher Street is a street in the West Village gay neighborhood of Manhattan. Johnson reportedly launched even more gay slurs against reporters in the team’s locker room Monday night.
Larry Johnson was already in deep crap over several incidents involving assaults on various women. In the latest, Johnson allegedly spit a drink in a woman’s face on Oct 10. He faces assault charges over that incident and is scheduled for a court date in December for another assault incident in which he allegedly shoved a woman in the face at a nightclub.
Slapped by the league and dissed in the press for his nasty behavior, Johnson released a rather pathetic apology for his actions. “I regret my actions. The words were used by me in frustration, and they were not appropriate,” Johnson said through a spokesman. “I did not intend to offend anyone, but that is no excuse for what I said.”
