Lindsay’s theft necklace may be overpriced

Lindsay Lohan‘s grand theft charge may be reduced to a misdemeanor, due to the fact that the necklace she allegedly stole may not be worth what the jeweler claims.  The necklace in question was priced at $2,500, but quite a few jewelers have chimed in to say the necklace is only worth about $800.

If this turns out to be true, it’s good news for Lindsay, as grand theft charges are based solely on the actual value of the item.  The cutoff level is $950, so as long as the necklace is valued under that threshold, Lindsay’s looking at a petty theft charge with a maximum of six months in county… and of course we know she’s never see the inside of a cell if that’s the case.
