Over 4,000 Michael Jackson fans reportedly turned out in Los Angeles to participate in the “Thrill the World” dance event, including celebrities such as Miley Cyrus and Chuck Liddell. Other dance-a-thon events took place in New York, Denver,  Washington, D.C. and other cities across the world at 5:30 pm PST.

The previous record for the most people to dance to “Thriller” simultaneously was set a few months ago in Mexico City as part of a tribute to Michael Jackson on what would have been his 51st birthday.

According to the latest media reports, around 20,000 people participated in the “Thrill the World” event in the U.S. and abroad, which would certainly secure the record if verified.
