The ex-wife of John Phillips is speaking out about accusations he raped and had an incestuous affair with his daughter Mackenzie Phillips. In an interview with Roger Friedman published on Wednesday, Michelle Phillips claims her stepdaughter is lying about having a 10 year sexual relationship with The Mamas and the Papas star.

Mackenzie Phillips reveals in her new book, High on Arrival, that she and her father, John Phillips, had a sexual relationship for 10 years that began after he raped her at the age of 19. She also claims she had an abortion during the affair because she was afraid she was pregnant with her father’s child.
Michelle Phillips told Roger Friedmanof The Hollywood Reporter that she believes Mackenzie Phillips is lying about the alleged sexual relationship with John Phillips. “John was a bad parent, and a drug addict. But f–king his daughter?” Michelle Phillips said in the interview. “I have every reason to believe it’s untrue. Oprah should be more judicious about who she has on her show.” Michelle Phillips also stated Mazkenzie Phillips has “a lot of mental illness” and is “jealous of her siblings, who have accomplished a lot and did not become drug addicts.”
Mackenzie Phillips appeared on Oprah Wednesday to promote her new book and talk about her alleged incestuous relationship with her late father John Phillips.
Chynna Phillips, daughter of Michele Phillips and John Phillips, has stated she believes her half-sister’s story about the alleged relationship is true.

how dare michelle phillips say a WORD against mackenzie! john phillips began having sex with michelle when she was 16! that’s statutory rape, since he was much older than she. michelle phillips needs to shut up and atone for her own sins, like stealing a woman’s husband(john), sleeping with denny dougherty, when she knew cass was deeply in love with him, doing the same with roman polanski when she claimed to be friends with the very pregnant sharon tate, not to mention her drug abuse, her throwing her stuff around like a friggen frisbee…who didn’t she sleep with? she doesn’t want to admit john preferred his daughter in the sack over HER. she’s not worth anything and mackenzie IS telling the truth.
