Amy Winehouse’s parents Mitch and Janis unveiled a wax figure of the troubled singer – complete with trademark beehive and sailor tattoos at London’s Madame Tussauds. It was, however, quite obvious that the 6ft wax dummy was a very flattering depiction of the Amy… her scratched up arms and scabby skin were left out by sculptors.
Amy will NEVER look this good in real life. Inept jailer/enabler Papa Mitch said “We’re going to take this one home with us and send the real one back”. ‘Cuz a dummy can’t run out into traffic! And, unlike REAL dummy Amy, it doesn’t need to breathe.
In the last year alone, Wino has been a muse for a ceramic figurine by sculptor Guy Portelli, a collage by artist Charlotte Suckling, and with hubby Blaaaaake Fielder-Civil in a print by pop artist Gerald Laing.
Best of all, however, is that last weekend a bust of her made from potatoes and eggplant won the UK’s Lambeth Country Show vegetable sculpting competition. Please, someone, send Snarkista a picture.
