MTV announced Monday they will air the drug intervention documentary series Gone Too Far, starring late DJ AM, starting Oct 12. Adam Goldstein, a.k.a. DJ AM, died Aug 28 of an accidental drug overdose.
The MTV series Gone Too Far follows the stories of young drug addicts trying to break their addictions. DJ AM starred in the documentary series, which was filmed shortly before his death in August. Goldstein’s family decided to give permission to air the series because “helping people in their recovery was a huge part of Adam’s life.”
“It is our hope through airing this show that people will get to see the side of Adam that we knew and loved, not just the celebrity DJ, but the honest and caring person who gave so much of himself to help others,” Goldstein’s family said in a press statement. “The decision to air the show has been difficult, but we do this with the profound belief that it will inspire others to seek help.”
Gone Too Far begins airing on MTV on Oct 12.
