Does anyone else find Tiger Woods‘ new Nike commercial exceedingly creepy? In the new Tiger Woods commercial, the golf icon just stands there – staring – while the voice of his dead father, Earl Woods, plays over him. It’s like the intro to a bad horror movie. We’re really not sure if this Nike commercial was the best lead in for Tiger Woods return to golf as the Masters leaderboard in Augusta starts ticking.
Thankfully, we know we aren’t crazy because plenty of other folks out there apparently think the commercial is a serious fail too. Other viewers of the Tiger Woods commercial have called it “bizarre,” “strange” and – like us – “creepy.” Not exactly the kind of image one wants to associate with a brand name like Nike.
Weird commercials aside, the biggest Tiger Woods news right now is his appearance at the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta. For those who simply must get a taste of the Tiger on live TV, check out the schedule below for Woods viewing opportunities (Eastern time).

Corporate America and Tiger Woods are morally bankrupt. Tiger? What’s next a sex tape? Nike is protecting it’s investment so it can sell product nd Tiger will kiss the golden goose or anything else to climb back to those endorsements…money is not the root of all evil the love of money is…I bought new Adidas today!
Def creepy and inappropriate. Nike milking his homewrecking to sell gear? Shameful.
I don’t find it creepy – I just think its way too obvious…. every time he does something like this to appeal to fans and potential sponsors alike, it comes across as forced and insincere – as about as worthless as sex “rehab.” Just play golf, hold it together, and do your job. do it well and we’ll be back.
I found Payne’s (Chairman of Masters) public chastisement of Tiger’s infidelities grossly racist and out of place – like Tiger is the only PGA Tour Professional or Masters Champ to engage in extramarital affairs – I am confident that at least 50% of the members of Augusta – past and present – have cheated on their wives with mistresses – comes with the territory of being filthy rich – I live in the neighborhood in Atlanta where many of the richest southerners live – Off West Paces in Buckhead – and its well known around here that the husbands and wives of the families here are less than faithful!
This is a horrible ideas! Stop playing the sympathy, poor me card. If Woods would have just come back and played golf and had fun doing so I would have been supportive. Now I’m feeling like he hasn’t learned a lesson at all. Stop playing the victim and move on.
I think it’s creepy because they’re repurposing his dead father’s words from years ago to generate sympathy for someone who was in complete control of his decisions. I’m sure Tiger is real sorry. Sorry he got caught.
