Oprah: No Room On The Couch For Sarah Palin

Oprah Winfrey is denying a piece by The Drudge Report saying she won’t have Republican VP nominee Sarah Palin as a guest on her show. An Oprah insider tells Drudge that:

“Half of her staff really wants Sarah Palin on. Oprah’s website is getting tons of requests to put her on, but Oprah and a couple of her top people are adamantly against it because of Obama.

Oprah tells TMZ.com that:

At the beginning of this presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over,” she adds. “There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show.

Oprah’s early backing of Obama helped expose America to him early in his campaign. He’s a historic candidate. So is she. Snarkista wonders why Oprah doesn’t find a woman who’s nominated for Vice President of the USA a worthy interview right now? Obviously she isn’t going to ENDORSE Palin. Whatever happened to empowering women? It’s NOT like Oprah agrees with the viewpoints of all of her guests! Somehow it just smacks of sexism to Snarkista, and sexism from a woman just sucks harder.

The “business-guru” side of Oprah should take a second look at this decision. Her ratings have slipped significantly since her Obama endorsement…probably because some of her audience didn’t like her taking sides, and may not have agreed with her. Having Palin on would be a sure ratings bonanza. Guess Oprah just isn’t that focused on being a maverick any more. Pity.

  1. Wait. I’m confused. She said she wasn’t going to use her show as a platform for campaigns, but she had Obama on her show?

Oprah gives advice on relationships, but has a boy friend who is a
door mat … gives advice on marriage, but has never been married …
gives advice on child rearing, but has no children … gives advice on
Obama, but was a member of Jeremiah Wright’s anti-American racist
church for several years. Now, her white women’s audience, which made Oprah rich, wants to know more about Sarah Palin, but Oprah says NO.
No Oprah, No Wright, no Farrakahn, no Ayers, no Rezko,
    no mean Michelle, NOBAMA

  3. Since hearing this news a few weeks ago, I no longer watch the Oprah show. I see her show on, every day that I am home at 4pm, and I keep on turning the channels. I thought she was better than this, we all thought she was so level-headed and so honest. Guess she proved us all wrong.

  4. Oprah is a hypocrite.

She works hard giving everyone this impression that she’s open minded, full of love and understanding, and that she is objective so that they will listen to her and esteem her opinion.

She’s silenced people on her show because of religion by not allowing them to fully give their opinion, she’s decidedly liberal and gives great support to the liberal side, and she does not like to hear from the opposition because she wants her viewers to believe as she does. She thinks that she has wisdom, but she is blinded by her own self-concept.

One woman was asked by Oprah what gave her the strength to do what she does, and as she was about to mention how God has been the major contributor to her success, Oprah shuts her up by diverting attention to something else.

She’s a hypocrite because she is one sided and when she asks for an opinion, that opinion had better line up with what Oprah wants or it doesn’t matter.
