An American Idol lawsuit brought by former contestants on the show accusing producers of racial discrimination will move forward. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has ruled that 10 black American Idol hopefuls who were disqualified from the show for reasons other than their singing will be allowed to sue FOX and the show’s production company, 19 Entertainment.
The plaintiffs in the American Idol lawsuit claim that the show has demonstrated a pattern of racial discrimination over the show’s history. They are accusing producers of using the arrest records of black male contestants against them to get them kicked off the show. According to the suit, 31 percent of black American idol semi-finalists were disqualified for reasons “unrelated to their singing talent.” Moreover, the lawsuit claims that no white or non-black contestant has ever been disqualified from American Idol on the series.
Who was voted off Dancing With the Stars tonight in the first elimination of season 17? We were so sad to have to see one of the couples from the spectacular cast this season go home! We’ve been watching this show since the very first season when everyone thought it was a totally crazy idea. The Dancing With the Stars 2013 cast is, in our opinion, one of the best ever!
After finding out that DWTS 17 was going to be cut down to just one night a week, we were worried the show would just not be as much fun this time around. However, producers made up for cutting out the Tuesday results show by giving us a truly stellar cast. There are only a few really terrible dancers so far this season and we even love them because they are such fun characters to watch! (Yes, we’re talking about you in particular, Bill Nye the Science Guy!)
You might not think it after looking over the Dancing With the Stars 2013 cast for season 17, but we’re oddly excited about the ‘celebrities’ this time around. Maybe it’s because we love Bill Nye the Science Guy so much or that Glee’s Amber Riley will be sliding her sexy curves all over the dance floor. Or it could be that we’re happy to have one bloody reality TV show to watch that is only on one night a week now instead of two, or three, or frakkin’ every day (we’re talking about you, Celebrity Big Brother 2013).
Seriously though, the Dancing With the Stars 2013 cast is just interesting in a way it hasn’t really been for several season, in our humble opinion. We have the usual score of has-beens and second-rate celebrities, of course. But we also have some actual modern star power contestants for DWTS 17. Amber is coming right off Glee, one of the most popular shows on TV (or was, anyway). Snooki has a legion of followers. Brant Daughtery steps onto the dance floor from Pretty Little Liars, which is smoking hot right now.
Teen Mom 2 star Adam Lind and girlfriend Taylor Halbur welcomed a new baby girl to the family over Labor Day Weekend. We are sure she is only days away from soon starring in her own new MTV reality TV show. Seriously though, of all the people who are famous for absolutely no good reason, anyone who has a claim to fame from being on any Teen Mom show is at the top of the list.
What is worse than being famous as one of the Teen Moms who have been made into icons for little girls everywhere to emulate? Being their ex-boyfriend and actually being well known enough to have headlines written about their breeding practices. This makes us want to throw up in our mouths a little.
We’re sitting here scrolling multiple headlines from media outlets all over about Chelsea Houska’s ex having a baby with his new girlfriend. There are discussions going on about how it’s weird that the new baby’s name is Paislee when his first daughter with Chelsea, baby Aubree, also had a double E ending name.
When we saw the Kim Kardashian blonde hair photos that hit the Internet today, we just couldn’t help but wonder… what was she thinking? Kim Kardashian’s dark locks are part of the image that made her into the “I’m famous for no good reason” person that she is today. Why on Earth would she change it up? Is this something baby daddy Kanye West thought up? Is she trying to change up her image from the sultry dark sexpot to go with her new mommy status?
A blond Kim Kardashian is just weird to look at. Sure, she’s lightened her hair before and even worn a blond wig but this this blond with dark roots makeover just screams NO to us. Honestly, it looks like she hasn’t dyed her hair in ages and her roots are showing through. Paired with the thick gold chain strangling her neck in the photos of her new hair, Kim Kardashian looks like she just escaped from some kind of Sheena of the Jungle remake.
Oh well, to each their own, we guess. We’re not sure what Kim Kardashian was aiming for with this new blonde hair look but we hope she’s happy with it. We think it is especially strange for her to dye her hair light at this particular time considering baby North West has thick, dark hair. Shouldn’t Kim want her baby to identify with Mommy and their shared brunette locks?
Those rumors that Kourtney Kardashian’s baby daddy is some male model and not Scott Disick? Well, the Kardashians are saying it is time to put that nasty gossip to bed because they have proof he is! Looks like bad news for model Michael Gigenti, who is suing Kim Kardashian for paternity over her son Mason. Of course, he was probably just suing her for the publicity anyway.
Girgenti claims that he had sex with Kourtney Kardashian back in 2009 and he is the likely father of her son Mason, not longtime boyfriend Scott Disick. He says he hooked up with the Kardashian sister after they did a photo shoot together. Mason’s mama, meanwhile, has been adamant in her denial that she ever slept with this guy, much less conceived a baby with him.
That ’70’s Show star Lisa Robin Kelly was found dead in a rehab facility in California. The 43-year-old actress reportedly died in her sleep Wednesday after suffering cardiac arrest. Lisa had voluntarily checked herself into the rehab program in her ongoing battle to conquer her alcohol problems.
“Unfortunately Lisa Robin Kelly passed away last evening. Lisa had voluntarily checked herself into a treatment facility early this week where she was battling the addiction problems that have plagued her these past few years,” her manager Craig Wycoff said in a press statement, according to FoxNews.com. ”I spoke to her on Monday and she was hopeful and confident, looking forward to putting this part of her life behind her. Last night she lost the battle.”
