Ashley ‘A.J.’ Jewell, the ex-fiance of Real Houswives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss, was killed Friday night in the parking lot of a strip club in Atlanta. A.J. Jewell was reportedly beaten to death during a brawl at the Body Tap strip club late Friday night.
A.J. Jewell was found severly beaten in the parking lot of the strip club on Friday evening. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead from massive head trauma.
“It appears he was involved in an altercation in the parking lot and he received a severe blow to the head,” Atlanta Police Lt. Keith Meadows said in a press statement. “We have developed a person of interest and we’ve made contact with him to question him about the incident. No arrests have yet been made in the case.”
Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss became engaged to Jewell earlier this year. The couple split in August and called off their engagement, though Jewell reportedly said they remained “good friends.” Jewell is survived by six children, two of whom live with Kandi Burruss as their legal guardian.
“I could never in a million years imagine this happening. Please pray for A.J.’s children … that’s who i’m the most concerned for.” Burruss posted on her Twitter feed. “I’m about to give my swollen eyes some rest now. I just wanted to say thanks too everyone for their prayers.”
