Survivor 2014: Who Is Your Favorite Survivor Cagayan Castaway?

We’re headed back to the Philippines again tonight for the Survivor 2014 episode 2. This time, however, it won’t be “Blood vs. Water,” it will be “Brawn vs. Brains vs. Beauty” for the theme of Survivor Cagayan. Yeah, that’s a bit of a mouthful. So we’ll just shorten that up as we refresh you on the castaways of the Survivor 28 cast.

Survivor season 28 features 18 castaways in a grouping of three tribes. Each tribe started with six members labelled as either Brawn, Brains, or Beauty. The theme of the show is to test whether certain stereotypical characteristics will help you win the game or not. The Brawn Tribe is named Aparri, the Brains Tribe is Luzon, and the Beauty Tribe is called Solana.

The Survivor 2014 cast includes a former NFL cheerleader, the president of the Miami Marlins, a former NBA All-Star, a nuclear engineer, and a professional poker player. our biggest issue with the whole “Brawn vs. Brains vs. Beauty” is that, honestly, a lot of the choices for which castaway goes in what group seem really arbitrary.

Some of the selections obviously depend on their jobs, like putting the accountant in the “Brains” group. Others, however, just seem random and don’t fit, like half of the “Beauty” group being… well, not all that hot really. (Brains and Brawn have some far hotter contestants than some of the Beauty group.)

Oh, and let’s not ignore the horrible general stereotyping going on here as well. Brains can’t have Beauty? Brawn can’t have Brains? Etc. Etc. Oh well, the show has been on 28 seasons. They are desperate to come up with any kind of new theme or twist at this point to keep people engaged.
