Duggar Baby 19: Michelle Duggar Emergency C Section Delivery

Reality TV mom Michelle Duggar gave birth to her 19th baby on Thursday via emergency c section. Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar welcomed a new baby girl into the Duggar family, Josie Brooklyn, weighing in at just 1 lb., 6 oz.

Michelle Duggar has been in the hospital recovering from a gallstone and was taken to the OR for an emergency c section on Thursday. She was not actually due to give birth until March. Although premature, the baby girl is reported in stable condition. Michelle Duggar is also reportedly doing fine.

TLC has previously said they will change the name of the Duggar family reality show from 18 Kids and Counting to 19 Kids and Counting to reflect the newest addition. The Duggars follow the conservative Christian Quiverfull movement, which focuses on the bible’s tenement to be “fruitful and multiply”. They do not practice any form of birth control.

Little Josie continues the Duggar tradition of naming all the children in the family with the letter J. Her siblings are named Jana, John-David, Jill, Jessa, Jinger, Joseph, Josiah, Joy-Anna, Jedidiah, Jeremiah, Jason, James, Justin, Jackson, Johanna, Jennifer and Jordyn-Grace. The Duggars also recently welcomed their first grandchild into the family.

Duggar Family – 18 Kids and Counting Another Baby on the Way

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, stars of the TLC reality TV show 18 Kids and Counting have announced baby number 19 is on the way. The Duggar family spilled the news Tuesday to Meredith Viera on the Today Show.

The Duggars, who live in Tontitown, Arkansas, believe children are blessings from God and do not practice any form of birth control. The Duggar family religion is a constant theme on 18 Kids and Counting and the family attempts to live by strict conservative Biblical practices – including being strongly pro-life. When Michelle Duggar discovered women can become pregnant on the pill and then miscarry, she resolved never to take contraceptives again and allow “God to bless them with as many children as He saw fit in His timing.”

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar already have, as the show title specifies, 18 children of various ages. All of them infamously named with the letter “J”. Amazingly most of them actually have decently normal names, except poor Jinger and Jedidiah – we feel a bit sorry for those two. No doubt baby number 19 will get the same treatment.

If 19 children aren’t already enough of a breeding population, the Duggar family is also expecting the first grandchild in the family shortly before Michelle Duggar pops out her new baby. The couple’s old son, Josh, and his wife Anna are expecting a baby in October.

“Anna and I will have babies five months apart,” Michelle said. “My mother and my sister were pregnant at the same time and it was really wonderful. The kids were really close and still are. I have a nephew who grew up with me, we’re just three months apart.”

There is a rather lewd joke we could insert here involving something about clown cars, but we’ll just leave that to your imagination.
