Sandra Bullock Still Shocked Over Oscars Best Actress Win

Sandra Bullock is still somewhat in shock over her Academy Award best actress win for her role in The Blind Side. Biker husband Jesse James, however, says his wife deserved the win “more than anybody” and actually admits to getting a bit “teary eyed” when she won.

“I’m so proud of her,” Jesse James said of his wife Sandra Bullock after the Oscars ceremony Sunday night. “I’m so happy.”

As for Sandra Bullock, she’s still not quite accustomed to the idea that she’s now an Oscar-winning actress. “I don’t think it’s going to sink in until I’m like in a grocery store a month from now, and I pick something up with the word ‘gold’ in it,” Bullock said on Lopez Tonight. “Then I’ll just drop to my knees and start crying in the middle of the aisle.”

“I didn’t aspire to this,” Bullock told People.com of her Oscar win. “I was in awe of it. I admired it… but it wasn’t something that I said, ‘One day when I get to the Oscars.'”

Bullock isn’t getting a big head over the whole thing though. Shortly before taking home her best actress award from the Oscars, Bullock won a Razzie award for worst actress for her role in the quirky romantic comedy All About Steve. Bullock joked that she would place both awards “side by side in a nice little shelf somewhere.”

And that is why we can’t help but love Sandra Bullock no matter how many Oscars – or Razzies – she ends up with on her mantle.

Sandra Bullock is Best Actress Winner of 2010 – And Worst Too

Almost everyone expected Sandra Bullock to take home the best actress trophy from the 2010 Academy Awards for her role in The Blind Side, but it was still a sweet victory for the often underestimated actress anyway. We do have to wonder, however, how she really feels about being voted both the best actress and the worst actress of the year all in the same week.

Sandra Bullock tearfully offered thanks to her mother during a moving acceptance speech for best actress at the 82nd annual Academy Awards. Although we were leaning toward Gabourey Sidibe for Precious, we don’t begrudge Bullock for her best actress win. It was obviously the role of a lifetime for Bullock and she played it well.

Amusingly enough, Sandra Bullock was just as gracious accepting a worst actress Razzie Award shortly before the Oscars for her performance in the terrible romantic comedy All About Steve. Bullock even said on the red carpet at the Academy Awards that she would place her Razzie and her Oscar side by side on her mantel if she won. Guess she’ll have to live up to that promise now!

“It’s one of those rare occasions in a lifetime when all the puzzle pieces come together and they work,” Bullock said before the Oscars got underway. “You can’t manufacture that. You can’t plan it. You can’t fix it. It’s sweet — unexpected but very sweet.”

Congrats Sandra! We hope this means you’ll have a lot more meaty scripts to choose from in the future. Not that we don’t love you as the cheese ball hottie that you are, but every now and then it’s nice to see you’ve actually got acting chops under all that charm.
