Adele Recovering from Vocal Chord Surgery

As someone beloved for their voice, the last thing you’d want is to have to undergo vocal chord surgery. Fortunately, Adele is doing well after throat surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. The operation took place last week, and the singer is already back to blogging, thanking her fans for their support, and giving an update on her condition:

“Thank you for all your positive thoughts and get well wishes. I’m doing really well, on the mend, super happy, relaxed and very positive with it all.”

It hasn’t been all bad news for Adele during this forced break, though. In October she won the title of Best Female Artist at the Q awards and earlier this month she was named Best UK & Ireland Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

The 23-year-old songstress had a number of issues with her voice earlier this year which forced her to cancel a number of performances, and eventually pull out of her tour altogether. We hope she’s back wowing crowds again soon!

Adele Vocal Hemorrhage Heartbreak: U.S. Tour Cancelled

Chart-topping singer Adele has been forced to cancel the 10 shows remaining in her U.S. tour after suffering a vocal chord hemorrhage. Adele was “heartbroken and worried” at having to announced the cancellation of the rest of her tour because many of the shows were already rescheduled dates.

British siren Adele has been plagued with health problems over the past year, forcing her to cancel and reschedule tour dates repeatedly. In June, Adele was struck with a severe case of laryngitis. She took several months off to recooperate and attempted to relaunch her tour in September. Unfortunately she developed a chest and respiratory infection and missed six out of 15 shows last month.

Now Adele says she will have to cancel the last 10 shows of her U.S. tour. The October dates were already rescheduled from when she was in ill health earlier this year. The Grammy award winning singer is crushed at having to pull out of the shows but says she has no choice. “Singing is literally my life, its my hobbie, my love, my freedom and now my job. I have absolutely no choice but to recuperate properly and fully, or i risk damaging my voice forever,” Adele said in a blog post at Adele.tv.

“Guys, I’m heartbroken and worried to tell you that yet again im experiencing problems with my voice. It’s ridiculous I know! I cant believe it myself,” Adele said in her post. “I follow all the advice I’m given and stick to regimes, rules and practices to the best of my ability but it seems to simply not be enough.”

“I’m gonna be starting up vocal rehab as soon as, and start building my over all stamina in my voice, body and mind. i will be back and im gonna smash the ball out the park once im touring again,” Adele posted. “I apologise from the bottom of my heart, sincerely I do. I know it’s not only disappointing because of the show, but it’s plane tickets, hotel bookings, birthdays, anniversaries and time wasted. But please have faith in me that this is the only thing I can do to make sure I can always sing and always make music for you to the best of my ability.”

We wish you a speedy recovery Adele. Missed shows suck and your fans will be sad. But losing that amazing voice forever would be horrific. Get well soon!
