Adele Brit Awards flip off to producers for cutting her speech short

British sensation Adele showed her displeasure to Brit Awards producers on Tuesday night by flipping off host James Corden when he interrupted her acceptance speech for Album of the Year. Adele, who was the star of this year’s Grammy Awards in the U.S., said she was “offended” by being cut off after receiving her second Brit Awards trophy.

The Adele middle finger salute was prompted by an unfortunate interruption of her acceptance speech for Album of the year by Brit Awards host James Corden. “Nothing beats coming home with six Grammys and then coming to the Brits and winning album of the year,” Adele said as she stepped up to the microphone after accepting the award.

Grammys 2012 opening overshadowed by Whitney Houston death

The 2012 Grammy Awards on Sunday opened with a somber mood as celebrities spoke on the red carpet about their grief over Whitney Houston‘s death. Normally a night for celebration and revelry, the 54th annual Grammy Awards 2012 will no doubt be most remembered for occurring the night after the death of one of music’s most legendary performers.

Before the official 2012 Grammy Awards broadcast, a large number of awards were handed out in a pre-telecast ceremony to cut down on broadcast time. Betty White won a Grammy for Best Spoken Word album for her book “If You Ask Me (And Of Course You Won’t).” Superstar singer/songwriter Adele landed her first two Grammy awards in the pre-telecast, one for Best Short Form Music Video for “Rolling in the Deep” and Best Pop Vocal Album for “21.”
