American Idol 2012 Runner-Up Jessica Sanchez Disappointed by Loss

American Idol 2012 runner-up Jessica Sanchez was understandably upset by her loss in this year’s finals, but she admires the perseverance of opponent Phillips Phillips, who battled a painful kidney condition throughout the competition.

One of Jessica Sanchez’s biggest disappointments was actually failing to win this year’s American Idol 2012 crown for the ladies. A guy has now been the American Idol winner for five years on a row.

“Being the last girl standing, that was really one disappointment for me throughout the finale just because I was like, ‘Okay, you know, I’m not going to be mad if I don’t win because I think Phillip deserves it, but I gotta do this for my girls,’” Sanchez said in an interview with Us Weekly.

Regardless, Jessica Sanchez said she was very happy to have made it so far and was pleased for Phillip Phillips when he won the title. “I think he deserved it,” she said. Sanchez pointed out what a difficult road it was for Phillip Phillips, who was often in pain throughout the season. Phillips suffers from a congenital kidney disorder that causes him to produce large and frequent kidney stones.

He really fought through the competition, not just mentally but also physically,” Sanchez said. Phillip Phillips was reportedly scheduled for a corrective kidney surgery this week, but had to postpone after he came down with a sinus infection and a fever. Sanchez hopes he will have a swift recovery and will be able to join the American Idols Live Tour on time this summer as scheduled.

She thought the song was just okay, but she brought it to life. Jennifer says she would not have done this song as her first single as an Idol. Steven thinks it was not a great song for her but she knows how good she can sing.

Judges: Phillip receives a standing ovation from the judges! Randy says he totally loves the song and he loves Phillip and the whole performance. The audience is clapping so hard it is hard for him to speak. Jennifer says Phillip doesn’t sound like anyone else and no one is out there that sounds like him. (Except Dave Matthews maybe J-Lo?) Steven says Phillip has made the world his home; he was perfect and he’s the man.

The American Idol 2012 top 2 will hit the stage Tuesday for their last chance to impress the voters. After Wednesday’s American Idol 2012 results show, we could end up with our fifth male American Idol winner in a row, or the first female winner in five seasons. All of it may just come down to who gives the best performances tonight, and who fails to deliver that last ‘moment’ of greatness to sway the voters to their side.

After the American Idol 2012 results show on Wednesday night, only two contestants will remain to battle it out in the finale for the top prize and the right to call themselves an American Idol winner. Who will win American Idol 2012 may be less about how many fans each of the finalists has and more about how dedicated those fan bases will be to voting continuously during the voting window. Inspiring those fans to vote hard and vote endlessly until they can’t vote any more is all about how fabulous the two contestants manage to perform Tuesday night.

Who will win American Idol 2012? Will it be quirky, cute Phillip Phillips with his legion of tween fan girls? Or petite powerhouse Jessica Sanchez with her wildly rabid international fan base? Well, if you go by the statistics from past seasons, it looks like Phillip Phillips has the odds on his side. A male has been the American Idol winner for four seasons in a row. Still, Phillip Phillips has not been at his best lately and he may still be off his game in the finals as he is quite ill and just trying to make it through the finals before he has surgery.

So, this just might be the season that a girl breaks the streak and finally comes out on top. Not just because Phillip Phillips isn’t at 100%, but because I’ve never seen more crazed fans out there than the Jessica Sanchez supporters running wild all over the Net. Her fans might just be rabid enough to vote so much they push Jessica Sanchez right over the edge into becoming the American Idol 2012 winner, even if her actually number of supporters might be a bit less than Phillip Phillips’ fan base.

American Idol 2012 Wins Most Watched Show of the Season Again

Although CBS remains the most-watched TV network for the 9th year in a row, FOX can still lay claim to hosting the most watched television show. According to current Nielsen ratings data, American Idol 2012 is still the most watched TV show in the country.

Despite dropping by nine percent in the ratings this year, American Idol 2012 still placed number one in viewership among 18 to 49 year-olds, the most coveted age group for advertisers. FOX ranks first overall in the choice 18 to 49 demographic, even though it lost out to CBS in total overall viewers.

CBS announced Tuesday it would take first place in total viewers by the largest margin in 23 years by any network. The first place ranking in total viewers is largely due to the success of having nine out of ten of the most watched dramas on television, including NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles and The Mentalist. The network also boasts eight out of ten top comedy shows, including The Big Bang Theory and Two and A Half Men.

While CBS may have a huge lead in overall viewership, FOX can still claim they have the number one show of the season, even though American Idol 2012 lost 23 percent of its totally audience this year. If FOX wants to keep ahead of shows like The Voice next season, they better hope they can do something to prop up those failing ratings in the next season. Maybe something like giving Jennifer Lopez more money so she’ll shut up about leaving and forcing FOX to replace her with an inferior knock-off.

American Idol 2012: Phillip Phillips Postpones Surgery Until After Finale

American Idol 2012 top 2 finalist Phillip Phillips is in desperate need of surgery, but has decided to postpone the procedure until after the finale this week. Phillip Phillips suffers from serious kidney issues and he has been urged by his family physician that he needs immediate surgery.

Throughout his time on American Idol 2012, Phillip Phillips has been battling severe kidney problems. Early in the competition, he was forced to have a temporary stint implanted to keep his body functioning until he could undergo surgery.

In addition to feeling terrible on more than one performance night, Phillip Phillips has also had to deal with “dry mouth” as a side effect of the medications he is on. The young singer was forced to miss several offsite production sessions and had to skip shooting on some of Ford commercials the American Idol 2012 cast regularly filmed during the season.

Music producer and American Idol 2012 mentor Jimmy Iovine has mentioned Phillip Phillips’ medical issues on the show as part of why he may not have performed at his best on some nights.

Phillip Phillips reportedly visited with his family doctor when he was back home in Georgia on Saturday, May 19. The American Idol 2012 finalist reportedly looks horrible and has not been eating. The physician was allegedly very alarmed and told Phillips he was in dire need of immediate surgery. However, Phillips reportedly decided he just could not miss the American Idol 2012 finale and has delayed his surgery until after the finals.

Once Phillip Phillips does go under the knife, his recovery from the surgery could take at least 6 weeks, which will certainly put a damper on his post-American Idol 2012 finale promotions if he does turn out to be the winner.
