Although CBS remains the most-watched TV network for the 9th year in a row, FOX can still lay claim to hosting the most watched television show. According to current Nielsen ratings data, American Idol 2012 is still the most watched TV show in the country.
Despite dropping by nine percent in the ratings this year, American Idol 2012 still placed number one in viewership among 18 to 49 year-olds, the most coveted age group for advertisers. FOX ranks first overall in the choice 18 to 49 demographic, even though it lost out to CBS in total overall viewers.
