The X Factor USA 2012 winner Tate Stevens is already translating his success on the reality talent show into real world rewards. Stevens has been tapped to replace American Idol 2012 winner Phillip Phillips on FOX’s New Year’s Eve Live! special. FOX announced the replacement after Phillips bowed out of the program due to a scheduling conflict.

Dropping out of a prime New Year’s Eve gig so close to the date is just a bit odd. The show could rake in tons of revenue for the entertainers from millions of potential music buyers. I’m not sure what kind of “scheduling conflict” could prompt Phillips to cancel last minue, but it’s a sweet deal for replacement Tate Stevens. Let’s just hope the real reason behind the American Idol winner skipping out on the program isn’t health-related or anything serious.
