American Idol 2012 Runner-Up Jessica Sanchez Disappointed by Loss

American Idol 2012 runner-up Jessica Sanchez was understandably upset by her loss in this year’s finals, but she admires the perseverance of opponent Phillips Phillips, who battled a painful kidney condition throughout the competition.

One of Jessica Sanchez’s biggest disappointments was actually failing to win this year’s American Idol 2012 crown for the ladies. A guy has now been the American Idol winner for five years on a row.

American Idol 2012 Winner Phillip Phillips ‘Home’ Hits 278,000 Downloads

American Idol 2012 winner Phillips Phillips has made Idol history by hitting 278,000 downloads of “Home” and debuting at No 2. on the Hot Digital Songs chart. “Home” had the second-best digital sales week for any Idol contestant, debuting just slightly lower than Kelly Clarkson‘s “My Life Would Suck Without You” with 280,000 downloads in 2009.

Phillip Phillips’ “Home” also nabbed the record for the most downloaded song after an American Idol finale, beating out David Cook‘s finale song “The Time of My Life” from season 7. “Home” was also the fourth highest debut of the year so far behind Justin Bieber, Maroon 5 and Katy Perry.

American Idol 2012 winner Phillip Phillips was reportedly scheduled for vital kidney surgery on Tuesday, but it looks like he will have to wait a little longer before he goes under the knife. American Idol 2012 Predictions: Who Will Win American Idol Season 11?

On the American Idol 2102 results show for the final two Wednesday night, almost anything could and probably will happen. Despite a majority of American Idol predictions leaning toward Phillip Phillips as the one who will take home the top prize, there is still a strong possibility Jessica Sanchez could walk away as the American Idol 2012 winner against the odds.

Let’s face it, the odds are not in favor of Jessica Sanchez as the winner of American Idol 2012. The American Idol winner for the past four years in a row has been a young, cute, white guy with a guitar. Obviously American voters (especially the all important cellphone toting tweens) love those handsome boys with the golden voices.

American Idol Final Two Showdown

Tonight on American Idol, it will finally come down to the last two contestants — Scotty McCreery versus Lauren Alaina. While it looks like the odds seem skewed in McCreery’s favor according to most of the predicitions out there, we all know that on American Idol you just never know who the hell will end up on top.

After the shocking eliminations of several top favorites this season against all reason, we’re left wondering why we should even try to predict the newest American Idol winner. This is a show where Taylor Hicks — bless him — should never have won and Adam Lambert lost out to that rather bland boy whose name we can never remember.

Still, it should be interesting to watch the final showdown between American Idol’s unlikely top two this season. I’d find it kind of fun if the little blond girl who nearly crawled into Steven Tyler’s lap during her first audition actually managed to stomp all over smirky country boy.

Then again, we haven’t seen a woman win American Idolsince 2007. And we’ve had some girls during those past years with pipes way bigger & better than Alaina’s.

I’ll be watching tonight but honestly it doesn’t really matter to me who wins this time around. James Durbin is the guy we’ll be buying records from at the end of the day. But that’s just me. What’s your opinion on who you think will take home the top prize in the American Idol results — and who really should have?
