Anand Jon Alexander was charged last November in Los Angeles on multiple counts of rape and sexual assault of young girls from ages 14 to 21. Alexander reportedly used his sway as a celebrity fashion designer to lure young women to his apartment with promises of a modeling career and then sexually assaulted them. Alexander is also facing possible related charges in New York, Massachusetts and Texas.

Alexander was sentenced this week to 59 years in prison on charges of raping seven women. Judge David Wesley said the designer showed no remorse for his actions and was a danger to women. Deputy District Attorney Frances Young said the harsh sentence for Alexander was more than appropriate due to the “aggravated nature of the crimes and the horrible torment on a number of victims.”

Anand Jon Alexander was once named as one of the top fashion designers to watch by Newsweek magazine. Alexander’s clients included such Hollywood heavyweights as Rosario Dawson, Lawrence Fishburne, Oprah Winfrey and Janet Jackson.
