Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman are officially engaged, a rep for the actress has confirmed. Hathaway and longtime boyfriend Shulman started dating in 2008 following her break up with Italian real estate developer Raffaello Follieri after he was accused of fraud and money laundering.
Raffaello Follieri eventually pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 54 months in prison and three years of probation. Hathaway and Raffaello had been together for four years before they split. Hathaway denied any knowledge of Follieri’s criminal activities.
Anne Hathaway was photographed over the weekend wearing a sparkly new engagement ring on her hand from actor and jewelry designer boyfriend Adam Shulman. According to Hathaway’s rep, the ring was a design collaboration between Shulman and Kwait Heritage jewels.
Hathaway has been happy to proclaim her love for Shulman far and wide, telling People she is “very much in love with him” and she “fell in love like a fool.”
No information was forthcoming about how the marriage proposal went down or when the two plan to actually tie the knot.
