Arnold may have to pay Maria $200 million

If Maria Shriver chooses to file for divorce, and it looks like she’s leaning that way, Arnold Schwarzenegger is going to be in a heap of financial trouble.  Shriver has been talking to famous divorce lawyer Laura Wasser about how to proceed, and if everything goes Maria’s way, she could be walking out of the marriage with a sum close to $200 million.

Although most sources seem to think that there was a prenuptial agreement between the two, the fact that they were married for 25 years and that the marriage was ended by infidelity will likely make the document irrelevant.  Of course, it’ll be up to a judge, but with Wasser and truth on her side, it looks like Maria can’t really go wrong.

Arnold and Maria still attending the same church

How awkward is this – apparently one of the things that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver haven’t worked out in their separation agreement is who will get custody of their church. St. Monica’s Catholic Church was the traditional Sunday venue for the family, and nothing has changed even after the separation.

Both Arnold and Maria showed up on Sunday, although they arrived separately and sat in separate areas of the church.  Attendees of the service said that the two spoke to each other briefly and it seemed friendly, but they did not sit together and they arrived and left in separate cars.  Maybe next time they could go together and take the carpool lane

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver separate

I’ve now completely lost faith in the institution of marriage, as I thought Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver would really be together forever, but it seems I was wrong.  The couple, who met in 1977 and married in 1986, recently announced that they would be separating after a quarter-century of marriage.

It sounds amicable on paper, but then again it always does – they say their top priority is the children, they want some time to reflect, blah blah blah… all of which means they will most likely be getting a divorce pretty soon.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen a celebrity separation that didn’t end in divorce.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger Says Unpaid Taxes a Paperwork Mistake

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger owes over $79,000 to the Internal Revenue Service, according to a lien filed by the IRS in Los Angeles. The Hollywood star turned politician, however, says the whole thing is just a simple mistake.

The lien was filed way back in May, but only came to public attention after surfacing on the Net on Friday. The unpaid taxes stem from Schwarzenegger’s 2004 and 2005 tax returns.

Press Secretary Aaron McLear issued a statement saying the tax lien was simply the result of a “minor paperwork tracking discrepancy.” In layman’s terms, a fuck-up. “The issue is completely unrelated to the payment of taxes,” McLear said. “The governor is resubmitting certain information to the IRS, and we fully expect that the matter will be resolved and the lien expunged without any penalty assessed upon the governor.”

Although many politicians make their tax records available for public review, Schwarzenegger has not been so forthcoming with his. He did allow reporters to examine his 2004 taxes, but has never released his 2005 tax returns.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Says Roman Polanksi Fame No Excuse

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has weighed in with his opinion on the arrest of director Roman Polanski for the 1977 rape of then 13-year-old Samantha Geimer.

“It doesn’t matter if you are a big-time movie actor or a big-time movie director or producer,” Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said in an interview on CNN. “I think that he is a very respected person, and I am a big admirer of his work.”

Fame doesn’t give anyone the right to avoid justice for their crimes, however, according to Schwarzenegger. “I think he should be treated like everyone else,” the former Hollywood actor  said on CNN. “One should look into all of the allegations, not only his allegations but the allegations about his case. Was there something done wrong? You know, was injustice done in the case?” Guess Arnold won’t be signing that celebrity petition demanding Polanksi’s release.

Roman Polanski is currently fighting extradition to California to answer for his 1977 sexual assault of Samantha Geimer. Polanski pleaded guilty to “unlawful sex with a minor” for the crime, but fled the country to escape possible jail time in sentencing.
