Phillips, who co-starred on One Day at a Time with Bonnie Franklin and Valerie Bertinelli, says her father raped her on the night before her wedding to former husband Jeff Sessler.

“On the eve of my wedding, my father showed up, determined to stop it,” Mackenzie writes in her new book, High on Arrival. “I had tons of pills, and Dad had tons of everything too. Eventually I passed out on Dad’s bed… I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father.”

Later the sexual relationship between Mackenzie Phillips and her father John Phillips became consensual and continued for 10 years, the actress reveals in her biography High on Arrival.

Phillips sat down for an interview with Oprah on her talk show Wednesday to promote her new book and talk about her relationship with her father.
