Bruce Springsteen Cancels Concert After Cousin Found Dead

Bruce Springsteen cancelled a concert in Kansas City scheduled for Monday night after his cousin, Lenny Sullivan, was found dead in a hotel room just hours before the show was set to begin. Sullivan, 36, worked as the assistant road manager for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band for the past 10 years.

A statement on Springsteen’s site paid tribute to Sullivan on Tuesday: “A warm and sensitive person, he was beloved by Bruce, the crew, and the entire Thrill Hill family… Bruce and the Band deeply appreciate the understanding of our Kansas City audience and look forward to returning at the earliest opportunity.”

Lenny Sullivan was found dead in his room at the Intercontinental Hotel in Kansas City only a few hours before the concert start time. Kansas City police are investigating the death, but so far are reporting there is nothing suspicious.

Springsteen is still expected to perform at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concert at Madison Square Garden on Thursday.
