Websites hosting Scarlett Johansson nude pics allegedly hacked from her cell phone are taking the photos down after receiving cease-and-desist letters from the star’s attorney. The photos are believed to have been stolen from Scarlett Johansson’s phone, possibly as part of a larger celebrity hacking ring, and the actress is reportedly working with the FBI to investigate who illegally accessed the nude photos.
Nik Richie of TheDirty.com told E! News that he felt bad for the actress when nude photos of her popped up on the Internet. He did, however, go right ahead and post the Scarlett Johansson nude pics on his website. Sites hosting the photos were served with cease-and-desist letters commanding them to take down the pics or face legal action.
“The highly personal and private photographs at issue,” the cease and desist letter read, “capture our client self-posing in her own home in a state of undress and/or topless. If you fail to comply, you will be acting at your own peril.”
While this threat was enough to prompt some sites to remove the photos, Richie said it was not the legal threats that caused him to take them off his site.
“It wasn’t [Johansson’s attorney] that motivated me to take things off the TheDirty.com. It was the more I looked at the images, I really thought they were hacked,” Richie told E! News. “I really felt bad for Scarlett Johansson in the situation, so I thought, ‘Let’s take them down, let me be the bigger person for once.'”
Scarlet Johansson may not be the only victim of the so far unidentified cell phone hacker. The actress was reportedly one of several Hollywood celebrities who has been hacked, including Demi Lovato, Mila Kunis, Jessica Alba, Ali Larter, Emma Caulfield and Selena Gomez. Johansson has been cooperating with the FBI to try to track down the hacker.
