Brad Pitt has come forward to clarify comments he made about ex-wife Jennifer Aniston in an upcoming interview with Parade magazine. Brad Pitt says he did not mean to imply in the interview that Jennifer Aniston was boring, although his life while they were married apparently was.
Speaking to Parade magazine, Brad Pitt said that it “became very clear to me that I was so intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn’t living an interesting life myself.” Pitt said he “started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holdinga joint, hiding out. It started feeling pathetic.”
In the interview, Pitt — now married to Angelina Jolie — said he thought his marriage to Jennifer Aniston and “trying to pretend the marriage was somethign that it wasn’t” contributed to his discontent.

Despite what sounds like some pretty nasty comments about his marriage to Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt now insists he didn’t mean to say she was uninteresting and boring. In a statement to E! Online, Pitt said, “It grieves me that this was interpreted this way. Jen is an incredibly giving, loving, and hilarious woman who remains my friend. It is an important relationship I value greatly.”
He added, “The point I was trying to make is not that Jen was dull, but that I was becoming dull to myself — and that, I am responsible for.”
Meanwhile, Brad Pitt gushed in the Parade interview about his life with new love Angelina Jolie. “I’m satisfied with making true choices and finding the woman I love, Angie, and building a family that I love so much… Oh, man, I’m so happy to have her.”
“With a partner like Angie, I know that when I’m working, the kids are happy, safe and prospering. And when Angie’s working, she knows she has the same,” Pitt said. “One of the smartest things I ever did was give my kids Angie as their mom.â€
Still, rumors they are planning a secret wedding are unfounded, Pitt said. He and Angelina Jolie previously vowed not to get married until “everyone can” — referring to the couple’s support of gay marriage. Pitt says they are still holding to that vow.
