Gossip Girl Star Chace Crawford Charged with Pot Possession

Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford has officially been charged with pot posession. Chace was arrested last Friday after police found a marijuana joint in a car where he was hanging out with a friend.

Chace Crawford has been charged with one count of misdemeanor possession of marijuana over his arrest in Plano, Texas last Friday. The Gossip Girl star could face up to six months in jail if convicted.

Police allegedly found one unsmoked joint of marijuana in a car where Chace and a friend were siting in a parking lot last Friday morning, according to TMZ.com. Chace was arrested and booked before being released on bail.

Reps for Chace have not commented on either the arrest or the official charge against him.

Gossip Girl Star Chace Crawford Arrested for Pot Possession

Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford was arrested early Friday morning near Dallas, TX for possession of marijuana. Crawford was reportedly arrested shortly after 1 AM for carrying less than two ounces of pot.

Chace Crawford was reportedly sitting in a car with a friend in a Plano, TX parking lot when he was busted by police. TMZ.com reports a single marijuana cigarette was found by the cops.

Crawford was booked on charges of misdemeanor marijuana possession and released on bail. The Gossip Girl star could face a maximum of 180 days in jail and a $2,000 fine if convicted.

Reps for the actor have so far not commented about his arrest.

Director Kenny Ortega Shakes Off ‘Footloose’ Remake

Director Kenny Ortega is hanging up his dancing shoes. Ortega announced this weekend he would be pulling out of the Paramount remake of Footloose, starring Gossip Girl‘s Chace Crawford and Dancing With the Stars pro Julianne Hough.

“Coming off the extraordinary project, Michael Jackson‘s This is It, director Kenny Ortega has decided it is premature for him to commit to his next film and will not be moving forward with Footloose as previously reported,” a rep for the director said in a press statement.

Ortega and Paramount had reportedly been in a dispute over the Footloose remake over the film’s direction and budget. Paramount reportedly wanted to do the film as a drama and keep the budget as low as possible. Ortega, however, allegedly wanted to include lavish dance numbers and desired a bigger budget. Considering Ortega helmed all three High School Musical films, no big surprise there.

Zac Efron was first slated to star in the Footloose remake, taking over the role the original film’s star Kevin Bacon, but was later replaced by Crawford.

David Archuleta Gets A Teen Choice Nomination!

No big surprise here, but squealmaker David Archuleta has received a 2008 Teen Choice Awards nomination for having the most fanatic fans! Archie could probably take this one home, as anyone knows who witnessed the asteroid shower of screams that rocked American Idol EVERY TIME he took the stage!

Other categories have been added to the “Teen Choice” voting ballot- including Choice MySpace and Archie’s category of Choice Fanatic Fans. There are a LOT of categories, in response to the online input on the award’s site. Fans can vote once a day on the Teen Choice website. You’re supposed to be a teen, but, whatever. If you love you some Jonas Brothers or are an Ironman fan… Snarkista won’t tell if you vote.

Stars scheduled to appear on the August 8th show (Fox, 8pm eastern) include The Jonas Brothers, Chris Brown, Scarlett Johannson, Kristen Bell, Chace Crawford, Hayden Panettiere and many more. The show will be hosted by…wait for it…Miley Cyrus. Miley’s gotta be able to do this hostessing shizz in her SLEEP by now!

Tommy + Chace= Gossiping Girls

The “Superhero” themed Met Costume Institute Ball in New York last week brought out a wide variety of celebs and socialites, along with some very interesting “costumes”. Not gonna detail the clothes- suffice to say there was the usual good, bad and incredibly fugly.

Tommy and “Kate” Cruise were there, in Armani. Several of the Gossip Girl cast attended as well, including Chace Crawford and Penn Badgley. Penn was supposed to be the show’s breakout hunk, but Chace seems to have eclipsed him- even though Penn’s film work includes the provocative yet acclaimed independent feature “The Fluffer”!

Despite Penn’s provocative work, Tommy Girl brushed him aside in his rush to get next to Chace! Apparently, Tommy’s a BIG fan of the show! Oh, and Kate is too. You know, because they both love watching cute boys great acting. Tommy and co. dissed the rest of the cast, and only talked to Chace- leaving Penn pissed. This was supposed to be PENN’s big night, not a Chacefest! Adding insult to injury, Chace was the only one invited to George Clooney’s exclusive afterparty!

You KNOW Tommy slipped Chace his digits ‘cuz Chace is single now! Carrie Underwood got tired of his party-hopping, cabana boy bromance with JC Chasez. And, if you put your hands over your ears, “Chace” sounds alot more like “Kate” than “Penn” does. Tommy’s crazy, but careful!
